A little of "this" and a little of "that"~

Do you remember this post – when I wrote about the Lord doing something in and through our family’s lives that I couldn’t speak of yet? (And some of you sent me funny e-mails about having another baby… that would have certainly been “big news” – no less than a miracle – but that wasn’t the that I’m talking about.)

And, do you remember the post on this article in the Truth and Triumph Magazine about being “Dangerous” Christians and our battle with the ACLU? —>This is the result of the two “thats” above. I can’t make any public statements in my blog about what is going on, but if you’ll click the link, you’ll be sent directly to a news release from the Alliance Defense Fund, and you can read about it on their website. You may even see snippets about it here and there on national news shows. What I can say ~ is that the five families involved covet your prayers. And, along the way, I can share what the Lord has been doing in my own personal relationship with Him as we have prayerfully walked in obedience to what He has called us to do. God has been so good to all of us. He has filled us daily with strength from His Word, and He has given us His peace as we move ahead in obedience to Him.

Matthew 5:14-16 from The Message is my prayer for us – for all of our lives – YOURS included:

“Here’s another way to put it:
You’re here to be light,
bringing out the God-colors in the world.

God is not a secret to be kept.
We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill.
If I make you light-bearers,
you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you?

I’m putting you on a light stand.
Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop,
on a light stand—shine!

Keep open house;
be generous with your lives.

By opening up to others,
you’ll prompt people to open up with God,
this generous Father in heaven.”
Matthew 5:14-16 from The Message

So dear friends and readers… that’s what’s been going on. I’m glad to finally be able to tell you. I’m so thankful for each of you ~ Thank you for your prayers and words of encouragement to me. You are such a blessing.

From one “light bearer” to another… Shine on, my friends… in whatever this and that that’s going on in your corner of the world. 🙂

  1. I remember reading this when you posted on it a while back.
Be sure I’ll remember you in prayer!

  2. I will stand with you in prayer! Blessings to you!

  3. I saw this story on “Hannity” last night. God Bless you for fighting for Him. I never thought this kind of thing would be happening in a “Bible Belt” state like Tennessee. My father’s side of the family is from Nashville. My own little family lived in TN for many years before we moved down here to TX. While growing up, I always heard my mama talking about how Christians would one day have a terrific struggle. I thought at the time that she meant in other countries. I never thought it would happen here. We now are going to have to take up our swords and shields for God and Christianity. We must be Christian Soldiers. Please keep us updated on this battle you are waging. I will do my part by praying for you to succeed.

  4. Jen, you all are amazing. You know we’re praying. Thank you for taking this brave stand. I’m going to go ahead and add you to “Pray It Friday!” because we all know it is going to be the Power of Prayer that wins this.

Let me know what I can do otherwise, I like Sandy Toes idea of calls, letters, etc. Keep us posted. They had best look out – you’re bloggy friends are here. 🙂 Hugs.

Heidi (Stone Fox) ~ Thank you for giving to the Alliance Defense Fund! We couldn’t have afforded to do this on our own. It’s because people give that we were able to take this stand. It’s all of us standing – in one way or another.

  16. Stonefox (otherwise known as Heidi) says:

My family and I have been financial supporters of the Alliance Defense Fund for many years. It is lawsuits like this that make me so happy to be a supporter. We can’t all be there in your spot, but we can all give.

Our prayers are with the five families; the enemy wants to shut you down, but don’t give up! Thank you for letting your voice be heard.
