HaPpY BiRtHdAy, NaThAn!

As of today, we have an “official teenager” living under our roof! Nathan turns 13 today, and I honestly don’t know how these years have passed so quickly. Truly… it seems like he was just starting kindergarten a few years ago and we were working on learning how to tie shoes. In a matter of a few more years, we’ll be working on learning how to drive…

I can’t help but smile when I think about Nathan and how God has blessed our lives through him. Before he was born, we had all kinds of names we wanted to name our son, but the Lord kept bringing us back to “Nathan” – which means “Sent by God.” And he has certainly lived up to that name.

Nathan is a funny, quirky, strong, tender, talented, God-loving, family-loving, fun-loving, phlegmatic kind of guy. And we thank God that He “sent” Nathan to us!

Happy 13th birthday, Nate! We love you so much and are so very proud of you! As I hide these days in my heart, I look forward to all God will do in and through your life as you continue to grow in and through Him.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

(Last year – October in 6th grade)

(2 years ago – October in 5th grade. I can’t believe the change from 5th to 6th grade!)

(3 years ago – sometime in the 4th grade)

(4 years ago – in the 3rd grade.)

(That’s all I have in the computer – haven’t scanned in the printed pictures!)

Love you, man!

Can I just say that after reading this that I am in tears. I cannot believe he is a teenager. Where has the time gone? I can remember when he was in second grade and now I have to look up to him. Our family has been so blessed to get know Nathan over the years. It always brings joy to my heart when he wants to come to my house and spend time with Jack. He has been an excellent role model for Jack in many ways. Happy Birthday, Nathan! We love you!

  2. Happy Birthday to your son!!! Wishing you a year of blessing!
