Andrew is

Home… Healed… in Heaven…

And my heart is breaking for his dear family. This is from Bella Mella’s FaceBook status update:

Our beautiful and precious son, Andrew, went home to be with the Lord today. We loved on him, kissed him, sang and prayed. He was unaware, except by his spirit. The nurse and I bathed his body. I gave him his first bath and wanted to give him his last. Thank you to all who prayed for Andrew and continue to pray for our family. Life is hard. But God is good.

And this is from her friend’s blog earlier tonight:

It is with a heavy heart that I give you this update. I received a text from Melanie a little while ago saying, “Andrew went to heaven today.”

There are no words. Only tears. God has given me an idea about how to honor Andrew’s courage and legacy. I will let you know as it progresses.
For now. No words. Only tears.

Then they sat on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights. No one said a word to him, because they saw how great his suffering was. Job 2:13

Thank you for praying for Andrew. Now we need to surround Melanie, her husband Dan, daughter Audra (20) and brother Avery (15) with our prayers. I don’t know what to say, except “But God…”

Love to you all…

  1. I've been praying for Andrew, and will continue to pray for his family. What an incredible blessing he is to his family and everyone who knew him!

  2. Kim@Seasons of My Heart says:

Thank you for your faithfulness in keep us updated on sweet…sweet.. Andrew. My heart is truly breaking as I can ONLY imagine what this precious family is going through.

I truly marvel at the faith, a trust, and unwavering hope this family has shared with so many of us.

I truly believe that Andrew (and this families) story is NOT over….and Andrew's testimony (as well as his families) will be far reaching, and I know that MANY will be won to the Lord from the testimony of this amazing family.

I'll be gripping the hem on HIS garment…tightly for this family in the days and weeks to come as they walk this journey.

  3. I have been following Bella Mella's blog when you first posted about Andrew' diagnosis several months ago. My heart has been so heavy these last couple of days for this family. I can't even imagine what they are going through and my heart truly is breaking for them.

In the midst of walking this long and often dark road with her son, she has been such an incredible example of a woman that is totally relying and trusting on her Savior. I know that their story is far from over.

And yes, we can all rejoice that Andrew is home, in heaven, and completely healed.

Thank you for what you have done in keeping us up to date Jennifer.

  4. I'm so sorry, I'll be praying for them.

  5. Jen, I remember talking years ago about being a "weeper…" and you saying that you really can have a ministry of tears. As I read the other comments, knowing so many weep for this child and his parents and family, I'm reminded of that. While I'll probably never know Melanie, on this side, anyway—I certainly weep for her as well, for her husband, and other children tonight. And I'll be holding my own "babies" longer than usual tonight. Can't fathom such a loss. But God—indeed.

  6. Just wrote But God on LIsa's page as it came to me – his own mother's words. And I resonated with yours – our hearts are breaking for this precious family. Thanks sister. God Bless.

  7. That is so sad. Such a tough time of the year to lose a beloved family member. A precious child at that. My prayers with the grieving family and friends.

  8. I am soo sad to hear this. My heart is just breaking. We know of course Andrew is no longer suffering, and is at this very moment in the presence of our Lord, and yet this poor mama and the rest of their family. How very very hard to lose a child. I can't conceive their pain. I will lift them to Lord and pray that He wraps His arms around them and fills them with a peace that only He can. I appreciate hearing this update. Thanks for sharing this.

  9. Keeping the family in my continuing prayers. Thank you for the update. I've been wondering all throughout the day. My heart breaks for Melanie, her husband and their other two children, yet I'm grateful he's no longer suffering. May God's grace surround them like never before.

  10. Oh Jennifer, so sorry to hear this news. I've been praying for Andrew and his family. Thanks for sharing the update.

    Love you,
