Just Give Me Jesus

Hi friends~ You have been so wonderful in your comments and your prayers for BellaMella and family! I will send them on to her, and know that she will be blessed.

I just realized that Christmas Day is a week from Friday! This is the first year in my adult life that I’ve not been running 90 miles an hour – like most of you probably are right now – in preparation for “Christmas”. The “waiting with the Lord for a job” situation has placed us at a slower pace of living. And the financial cut-backs we are making has helped us prioritize the things/needs/wants/gifts that are usually the focus of this time of year.

This stripping away has been a wonderful awakening to the real reason we are celebrating Christmas. It has given us a chance to appreciate the Gift God gave us in Jesus, Who is ENOUGH! Jesus, Who is EVERYTHING! Jesus our SAVIOR, our PROVIDER, our LIFE!

I pray that our family will forever be changed in how we look at this time of year. Even if James has a million-dollar salary this time next year (ha ha!), I don’t want to ever again place our priority on “things” and “busy-ness” and miss the quiet moments spent soaking in the tremendous love of God through the Gift of His Only Son, Jesus.

“Thank You, Father, for unwrapping Jesus for us this year through our required dependence upon You. He truly is all we need. Because we have Jesus, we have Everything. I love you. And I deeply thank you for the peace of walking into the days ahead with You, Jesus, and Your Spirit. May You be magnified in our lives.”

Give Me Jesus

In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
In the morning, when I rise
Give me Jesus.

Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus.
You can have all this world,
Just give me Jesus.

When I am alone,
When I am alone,
When I am alone,
Give me Jesus.

Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus.
You can have all this world,
Just give me Jesus.

When I come to die,
When I come to die,
When I come to die,
Give me Jesus.

Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus.
You can have all this world,
Just give me Jesus.

Give me Jesus.
Give me Jesus,
Give me Jesus.
You can have all this world,
You can have all this world,
You can have all this world,
Just give me Jesus.

  1. Hi Jennifer! Thanks for this reminder!!!! We sung this song at church yesterday–I just love that song. i am and will continue to pray for the Lord's provision for your family…He is faithful and He will do it! 🙂

  2. Aww JUST GIVE ME JESUS INDEED!!! Thank you dear friend for sharing with us. You always bless my heart.

There is so much I want to say to you Jen but mostly I LOVE YOU and I'm so thankful for all your prayers for us especially my adult daughter. Thank you for sharing with me and for the privilege to pray for you and your family.

You are very precious to me. I love you. Merry CHRISTmas and blessed New Year. May 2010 bring every good and perfect gift for you, your hubby and family.

  3. Jennifer, what a perfect song to hear right now. Give me Jesus will be the song of my heart. I've been doing fairly well and then yesterday it just seemed to hit me again about the reality of our situation and the unknown. I like stability and not knowing is unsettling. But I know that the Lord knows all that's going on and I need to trust Him.

My heart is so saddened about Andrew. Although I know he is fine now and is completely healed, it's his family left behind that needs comforting now. I will be praying for them.

    Love you,
    Debbie

  4. Hi Jennifer,
I read your post while nodding my head. I too have experienced very much the same thing. My hubby was laid off on 10/1, and then with our son's wedding and move to SC, life feels very different this Christmas. Like you, I've found it to be one of the most eye-opening in terms of seeing much more of Christ. I had no idea just how distracted I had been until things were made much simpler for me. Praise God!
