A "Blog Organizational Tip" and Why I’m Glad I Blog :-)

Hi friends~  Hope you are having a great day!  I’ve been doing a little blog “organization” lately, and discovered something I didn’t know was there.  “Pages”.  Out of curiosity, I clicked on the tab “Edit Pages” in my settings, and found that I could categorize some things and run them across the top of the blog.

So I did.

And while I was doing this, I re-read many of the things I’ve written about the Lord and His work in our lives.  I’ve laughed, cried, shaken my head, and just grown purely grateful all over again for the things the Lord is doing and has done.

Never before have I faithfully written in a journal.  I’ve started many.  We have shelves full of journals with 1/4 of the pages used.  But with blogging – I’m finally keeping a consistent journal, and God has used it time and time again to bless and strengthen my life.

I put up a new page the other day.  It’s at the top right of the blog (under the title picture), called Our Journey: Urged on By Faith.  On it, I linked many of the blog posts telling our story as we’ve walked this 9 month road of unemployment and blindly trusting the Lord.  Boy, has He ever been good to us!!!

During this last week where I especially needed to be reminded to keep my eyes focusing on and trusting Him, He used my own words and stories of His past faithfulness to us as a Spirit-Lifter and Faith-Booster.  I’m so thankful these things were written down.

On top of that, God has blessed and enriched my life with so many new people and friends… friends from all over the world!  (It seems funny to call someone I’ve never seen face-to-face my friend…. but when someone shares her heart through what she writes – it’s easy to feel like you know her.)  There’s something comforting to me about knowing that when I move away from my community and the friends here, my blogging community stays the same.

Whether you’re local or long-distance, I thank you for being a part of the blogging community in which I reside.  I love you in the Lord Jesus, and thank God for you and your part in my life.

A reminder of God’s Work, and Friends like you… That’s why I’m glad I blog. 🙂

  4. Well – who knew?? and I learned something today. I love this idea of organizing your posts because, yes, this is the closest I have ever come to journaling…and what a blessing it has been. Even knowing that I want to have a new post…helps keep me focused and "in tuned" – if that makes sense. I'm so glad to have "met you" through these blogs!

  5. I find this soo exciting. I have wanted to "organize" my posts like this for a while and had no idea how to do it. I will attempt this project later today, and I will admit I am quite excited to do so. And I do know what you mean…NEVER did I realize when I began this journey of blogging, just how well you can get to know women you have "technically" never met, or how close to them you can feel. God really is sooo good to us. Have a wonderful day, and thanks for this. BLESSINGS AND HUGS, Debbie
