Hi friends~ It’s Thursday night, and I’m with my sweet husband for a few days at a church conference. We’re having a great time. But right now, we are watching the news and waiting out some tornado warnings and sirens for this area (hoping we won’t have to go out in the hotel hallway in our jammies) and praying for the safety of everyone. I haven’t taken my make up off yet…just in case. Such are the things memories are made of. 😉
So, while we wait, I thought I’d jump on here to tell you something wonderful that is coming to a theater near you… We had the privilege tonight of previewing the movie, Courageous. I had to promise not to give a bit of it away, but I’m dying to tell you this: It’s a life-changer! The movie comes to theaters in September and you’ll want to see it, and make sure the men in your life see it too… believe me! And… you’ll want your husbands to see it. It’s one of those movies you will want to watch over and over.
Check out the Courageous Website for all kinds of great information.
Here is a little “behind the scenes” video clip to tide us over until the official trailer is released.
Another movie that I’ve heard is awesome, The Grace Card, opens this weekend. I’d love to see it. I’m thankful that family friendly, God honoring films are hitting theaters more frequently. In my humble opinion, we need to support these projects through our prayers and when possible, our ticket purchases.
Have a super weekend, my friends… I pray that you are all safe, warm, dry, and know how much you are loved by The Lord… and by me!
ADDED FRIDAY MORNNG
We praise The Lord that where we are, all is well. We didn’t have to sit in the hallways in our jammies and stinky sleep-breath. But the storm was terrible and powerful. And I couldn’t help but think about this thought this morning:
We are fully aware when God allows a “storm” into our lives, and we know {short version} that somewhere down the line, He will work it all out for our good and His glory – Romans 8:28.
But what we are not often aware of is just how many, many “storms” God keeps from filtering through His hands to touch our lives. I’m sure that He prevents exceedingly many more storms from ever touching us than those He does allow. We just don’t often realize it. Therefore, when a storm does come, we get upset and think thoughts like “God, how could you let this happen?”
Last night, God gave us a glimpse of a terrible physical storm, and of how He did not allow that storm to have its way with this area. It was a beautiful reminder to me of the truth that what He does allow to touch our lives is specially and specifically allowed for a greater purpose – His greater purpose. We might hate every step of the way… but we can know without a doubt that if it would not turn out for good, God would have stopped it – just like He stopped last night’s damaging storm from doing any major damage.
Oh, how I love Him. He is more than worthy of our love and unrelenting trust!
🙂 Jennifer

This looks like a great movie. I'll be watching for it to come out. Glad you were safe in the storm. I appreciate your thoughts on the storms God prevents from entering our lives. I need to remember that in the hard times that do come.

Hi Friend! How are you???? I've missed chatting with you on your blog. Tim's been battling some health issues and I've been limiting my time online. All is okay, but just a season of not much online time. I love in this post that you said, in case you had to go to the hall ~ you were keeping your makeup on!!! That made me laugh out loud. Mainly bc we women can just so RELATE! Enjoy your time away with James and safe travels. {Hugs & Love}
