Happy Father’s Day & this week’s blog plan

Happy Father’s Day to all you dads out there. 🙂  And a special Happy Father’s Day to my husband, James.  I’m so grateful to the Lord that our children have an earthly dad that makes it easy for them to know and trust the love of our Heavenly Daddy.  I love you, James Walker, and thank God for you and every day we have to live together.  🙂

This morning when I came to my name of God/Jesus/Holy Spirit, I couldn’t help but laugh out loud.  You won’t believe what His name for me today was! (Or, maybe you will, especially if you read my previous post.)  It was Everlasting Father – from Isaiah 9:6.  I kid you not.  It happens every Father’s Day, and that makes me just love Jesus even more!  So, Happy Father’s Day to my Everlasting Father – who will NEVER leave me, no matter what, when, or where!  I love you, Abba Daddy!

We are finally on our way to the Southern Baptist Convention in New Orleans.  Until a few hours ago, we didn’t know if we would actually  get to go – both of our children had a horrible stomach virus this weekend, and only by prayer, clorox, and Lysol did we narrowly eescape it!  My mom is home with them, and I’m praying that she doesn’t get it and neither do we.  TMI?  Sorry.  I said all of that to say that I won’t be blogging fresh posts this week.  However, I’m reposting the series on My Heart, Christ’s Home.  I L.O.V.E. that little booklet, and since it can be found all over the internet, I felt safe in sharing it here.  If you didn’t do this series with me last year, I pray that you will take some time to soak it in and invite Jesus Christ into each crack and crevace of your heart-home.  He will set up special residence and make Himself at home if you’ll invite Him to take over your heart.

As we say in the South, “God Bless your heart” – and I mean that in the most sincere of ways. 🙂 Hope you enjoy His presence as you let Him make himself at home this week.  TTYYL~

Over the years, more than ten million people have been blessed by Robert Munger’s booklet, My Heart, Christ’s Home.  I remember the first time I read it.  I was in my late teens, and it had a profound and lasting impact on my life.  I think about it often, especially as I am “Spring Cleaning my Heart”.  In fact, I’m sure that the idea for my Spring Cleaning of the Heart writing probably stemmed from my mental pictures of this little booklet so many years ago. {Find “Spring Cleaning of the Heart” Part 1, Part 2, Part 3 here.}

These next eight blog posts will focus on giving Christ Jesus complete access to our lives – every area {room} of our lives. Robert Munger’s excellent illustration of Jesus entering our “rooms” and finding them in less than decent condition will resonate will all of us. We will be challenged to clean out some “closets” or perhaps allow Christ to do a complete “home makeover.

I’ll be posting the entire content of the booklet in 8 blog posts.  Each post will include a few questions for study and discussion.  Please feel free to use it as the Lord leads you.   I can’t wait for us to begin.  I’ll meet you back here tomorrow as we invite Jesus to do a little housework in our hearts.
